Join us in celebrating 50 years of Relationships Australia Northern Territory in continuous service to the health and wellbeing of the community in the Northern Territory.
Beginning as the Marriage Guidance Council in 1973, Relationships Australia NT has grown to include a broad range of health, mediation, dispute resolution, counselling, and well-being services across the Territory.
In July 1994, Relationships Australia Northern Territory Inc was inaugurated by the Patron, the Honourable Austin Asche AC, QC the Administrator of the NT.
Relationships Australia NT has expanded over the years to include:
- Counselling services for relationship, individual, children and family along with group courses,
- Open Arms counselling
- Employee assistance program counselling.
- Support services for Find and Connect, Forced Adoption, the Redress Scheme, and Intercountry Adoptee & Family Support.
- Counselling & Support for People Affected by the Disability Royal Commission
- Senior Relationship services
- Critical Incident Stress Management
- Workplace Mediation
- Family Dispute Resolution
- Post Separation Cooperative Parenting
- Child Consultation & Child Inclusive Practice
- Two Worlds Healing
- Holding Children Together
- Healing Our Children
- Drumbeat Program
- Parenting Outreach Tiwi Islands.
So, despite limited resources, issues over funding arrangements with governments, both Territory and Federal, cyclones, pandemics, and social changes Relationships Australia NT has managed to maintain and grow its presence providing flexible and valued services across the NT.
As Staff and Board members celebrate 50 years of continuous service in the Northern Territory, we look towards the next 50 years of growth and success in enhancing the well-being and in strengthening communities throughout the Territory.
