The Safe, Empowered and Reconnected program provides support to children who have been affected by Domestic and Family Violence. The program includes free strengths-based coaching in therapeutic parenting practices for caregivers and counselling for their children, aged 0-12 years old.
Our trained counsellor works with children and the family to:
Promote attachment repair with parent/s, families and /or safe adults.
Create a safe space for the children to tell their stories.
Help children make sense of their experiences.
Identify their strengths, coping skills and abilities.
Assist with ongoing engagement at school.
To refer a child to the program, parents and carers will first need to speak with a counsellor. The counsellor will discuss the parent's and carers' concerns to determine suitability for the service.
Children ages 0-12 years old and their parent/s or caregiver.
This is a free service.
Face-Face sessions are available in Darwin at the Relationships Australia - NT office.
Outreach options are available for people in Darwin and Palmerston.
