October 19-27 is National Children’s Week. A week-long celebration of kids and a time to recognise the needs and issues that children face around the Territory, and the world.
The theme for 2019, provided by the UN is:
“Children have the right to the best health care possible, safe water to drink, nutritious food, a clean and safe environment, and information to help them stay well.”
Creating a safe environment is a priority for our organisation. We are proud to be a Safeguarding Children accredited organisation. We aim to deliver and create a supportive environment to care for, nurture and keep children safe at our workplace and in the community.
Children are a big part of our work, and we support them in a variety of different spaces, including:
- Child inclusive practice in mediation
- Therapeutic support for children
- Counselling for a range of children’s issues
- Education and support for parents
To join in Children’s Week, you can attend one of the many events provided around the territory. To find events for 2019 Children’s week on the NAPCAN website.
