Legally Assisted & Culturally Appropriate Family Dispute Resolution
This service provides Family Dispute Resolution (Mediation) in a culturally appropriate way to clients who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, or who come from another country and language group who have experienced domestic violence or abuse.
Culturally sensitive support can be provided by our Aboriginal & Islander Cultural Advisors or our CALD Project Officer. Clients will be given the support of a lawyer, with a view to resolving family law disputes in a legally binding way without having to go to court.
We can help people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse who have experienced an abusive relationship.
It’s free, there are no fees involved in this service.
The program is provided in Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs and with outreach services available in rural and remote communities.
