Forced Adoption Support Services

We can provide counselling, reunion mediation, records searching, family tracing, information and events to people affected by past forced adoptions policies and practices in Australia between the 1940s and 70s.

We understand that issues around forced adoption may be hard to share and difficult to understand. Our experienced staff are respectful of people’s differing choices and options, and we acknowledge and value the diverse experiences of those affected.

Who can we help?

  • Mothers who gave birth to a child who was removed by an authority and adopted.
  • Fathers who impregnated the mother whose child was adopted
  • The person who was removed from their parents and placed with adoptive parents.
  • Relatives such as siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins
